The supplements submitted for state adoption by publishers for kindergarten through grade three History and Social Science textbook and instructional materials are now available for public review and comment. Additional information may be obtained from the Department of Education's web site at http://www.pen.k12.va.us/VDOE/Instruction/mat_review_main.html. Notice is given that copies of all supplemental material submitted for review are available for public examination at various sites around the commonwealth. The locations of local examination sites may be viewed on the department's web site at http://www.pen.k12.va.us/VDOE/Instruction/reviewsites-hist_ss-books.pdf. Interested persons are invited to examine the proposed supplemental materials at the examination sites and to submit written comments on the forms that are provided at each site. The Board of Education expects to take final action on the recommended list of K-3 History and Social Science textbooks and instructional materials at its meeting on March 26, 2003.
