Chapter 210 provides guidance including definitions, policy, and documentation expectations related to temporary leave from mental health hospitals and training centers operated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (“DBHDS,” or “department”). Collectively, these hospitals and training centers are referred to as “state facilities.” As long as the department operates state facilities, this regulation is needed to ensure the safety of the individuals on leave. This action is the result of a periodic review. The proposed amendments are not substantive and merely update language to mirror language in the Code of Virginia or in 12VAC35-115, Regulations to Assure the Rights of Individuals Receiving Services from Providers Licensed, Funded, or Operated by the Department Of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (“Human Rights Regulations”). |
